BOX MAGAZINES

This is the final chapter in the saga of the Thompson Box Magazines, I promise ... well until next time. During the tenure of Auto-Ordnance, under the management of Numrich, of West Hurley, N.Y., the production of box magazines stagnated. West Hurley used for the most part, WW II magazines that were modified to fit the then "new" semiautomatic Thompsons. You can tell if a magazine has been modified for a West Hurley gun by looking at the magazine's lock up hole on the back strap. If this hole is elongated then it is meant for a Hurley, and is totally worthless for any other version of the TSMG.
