WHAT'S NEW
Two items for the What's New section. First is this thirty round shot magazine, sent in by James Schinner. The magazine was a standard xxx magazine made by Seymore Prod. Then the magazine was cut in half, pulled apart approximately a quarter of an inch, to allow the longer shot cartridge to fit. Then two metal plates were welded to either side to achieve the new width.
The magazine was restamped "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORP., 30 ROUND (SHOT CART.), BRIDGEPORT, CONN. 1927".
THE FOLLOWER WAS LENGTHENED
BY WELDING ANOTHER SECTION TO
THE FRONT.
Why this magazine was built is anyones guess. It must not have impressed the people in charge. I think the magazine was made during W.W.II, and is not something "dummied up", but probably was a prototype from someone's imagination.
