These parts sets are functionally an exact replacement of the parts in a Colt 1928 overstamp. If you have a 1921 Colt, it can be fired as a 1928 model by simply using the Savage parts including the 1928 actuator, buffer pilot, and recoil spring. If you want to continue firing as a 1921 model, the 1928 actuator is readily milled down to the 1921 configuration. Reproduction 1921 springs, buffers, and buffer pilots are available from D.W. Richardson Phone (310) 457-6400.

The parts sets can be purchased without an FFL directly from the suppliers, and are shipped directly to your door. Some suppliers will take an order over the telephone and charge it to a credit card. For current prices, check the ads in Shotgun News or call the suppliers. These suppliers also have extra Savage parts available separate from the parts sets if you want an extra actuator, etc. Buying these parts sets couldn't be much easier, and it sure beats trying to replace or repair a broken Colt part. I suggest that everyone shooting Colt Thompsons get these parts sets while you can; Savage obviously isn't making any more of them. Clinton is also trying, via Department of State red tape, to ban any further re-importation of U.S. Military Lend-Lease parts from overseas; this would eliminate the possibility of additional British Lend-Lease sets coming on the market. These parts sets are cheap insurance for those expensive Colt Thompsons, and we should all be using them.
