FIRST GENERATION "C" DRUM POUCH
While doing a display at the NRA Show in Nashville last September, a gentleman came by with this pouch and was kind enough to provide me with an education.
At first I thought this was one of the World War II British drum pouches. However, the first thing that caught my eye was the front markings which state Feb. 1 921. Type "C "Drum, Mills Patent." The date Feb.1921 is the same date marked on the canvas gun cases for the 1919/1921 Type A. Also the wording "Mills Patent", means "patent pending", which are indicators of a very early pouch design.
