I want to mention something some of you may not know or have even thought about. The Thompson Collector's Association and /or the Thompson Collector's Newsletter are not a for profit operation to line Tracie Hill's pockets. There is so much involved in this. The paper, envelopes, postage, etc. is paid for out of the dues. His time to prepare the newsletter or lay the ground work for each annual meeting is not addressed with the money. Not to mention wear and tear on his personal computer, copy machine, or family life (Donna, Thomas, Maggie, and the new addition). This is not PRAISE TRACIE DAY. It is just a matter of doing the right thing. We have a wonderful club with some dedicated members. We want to move forward and attain more goals. Those goals should include making more people aware of the fact we exist and also to continue to explore what is out there and not already documented. This should give us more members and also help more people to view what we collect with less of a prejudice. Doing a display at a national event such as a NRA show is expensive and important for us to accomplish. It is only fair we spread the cost. Every member of the TCA benefits by our displays and our expansion.

I guess I have covered everything. I begin to wander at times. If you want to discuss this issue, or Thompsons in general, I am available during the week (0800 until 1600, eastern time) at xxx-xxx- xxxx and the evenings/weekends at xxx-xxx-xxxx. Try not to call after 2200 (10 P.M.), especially if you are calling to cuss me out.

For those of you who attended this year and made it one, of the best, of our shows - THANK YOU!!!! Thank you also for making it our tenth safe show. No one was hurt and I do not know of any unsafe acts. This takes everyone's combined efforts.

Thank you for your time. I feel this was the proper thing to do and so did the board. And, one last time - make time in your schedule for a trip to Newark, OH in August and Kingman, AZ in April. You will be glad you did. Take care and keep your powder dry.
