Dear Fellow Members,

On March 7, 1998, the telephone rang at home. When I answered I could tell by the way Tracie said "Jim, this is Tracie", that bad news would follow. He was calling to tell Gail and I that Dagi Zahn had passed away. It was a shock because we did not know she was ill. For those of you who have the pleasure of calling Dagi a friend you will know what we and the world have lost. For everyone else, let me offer a few words.

Dagi and Mike Young first attended a Thompson Show and Shoot in 1993. They traveled each year from California with their display which is a feat in itself. Once you met Dagi you realized she was good people. She was one of those people who made you feel as if you had know her for years. Her greetings and inquiries about how the world was treating you were sincere. Her smile and her sense of humor were always present. It was evident she was very supportive of Mike and our group of collectors. She was one of those people you looked forward to seeing each year.

When Gail made her first trip to a Show in 1994, Dagi was one of the girls who really made Gail feel welcome amongst strangers. I really appreciated that. She also swung a mean croquet mallet.

Mike, I know I speak for all of us when I say we are here for you. Yours and Dagi's thoughts meant a lot to Gail and I in our time of need. We will all miss Dagi and everything about her. Our loss is another's gain - Heaven is a richer place today because of a Lady named Dagi!!

Gail and J.L. Warren

HERE IS DAGI'S 21 GUN SALUTE.
