WILLIAMS COUNTY THOMPSON

I thought the readers might be interested in some pictures of a Colt Thompson which I'm sure is the best documented gangster gun there is. The condition is in the upper 90%. It was Glen Young's personal Thompson before he was killed in a shootout in Williamson County Illinois. J.J. Arms (Blackie Arms) was Glen Young's friend and deputy. Blackie has a letter from 1927 from Mrs. Young giving him s/n 4681. The firearm was registered in 1939 by him while he was Police Chief. I have talked to relatives, as well as Blackie's grandson, who believe that the gun just sat in a vault from 1927 till 1994, when I purchased the gun. The magazines still had the steel ammunition from the 1920's in them.
