Disassembly of the gun starts out very similar to that of a production Thompson. The lower frame has fewer internal parts, but the gun was designed to fire in the full automatic mode. However, one curious item is the "manual disconnector" with its pin finger which extends out the right side of the frame. By raising this finger the gun can be stopped from firing, thereby achieving a form of semiautomatic fire. To do this during firing, the shooter must be a contortionist.
