Shown in these photos is a newly
discovered    prototype    shot/
Remington-Thompson box maga-
zine. The magazine is wider that the
standard box magazines and slightly
shorter in height. This is the typical
size of a 1919 era magazine.
The body of the magazine is made
from one piece of folded sheet metal
and is welded up the front face of the
box. This is a wonderful job of weld-
ing and construction. this required a
great deal of skill and work, not
what is desirable for a production
item. One also has to wonder if the
backstrap would have enough
